Any infraction of these laws and regulations will result in disqualification. It is the responsibility of the entrant to be familiar with these laws and regulations.  Anglers must have a current Georgia Fishing License. (If not, you will be disqualified).  The “Iron Pig Motorcycle Club” will not be held responsible for any property damage or personal injury during this tournament!

Iron Pigs M/C Pan Fish Tournament Rules

All State and Federal laws and regulations will be observed. Any infraction of these laws and regulations will result in disqualification. It is the responsibility of the entrant to be familiar with these laws and regulations. You must possess a current Georgia Fishing License to participate in this Tournament!

 

1. Tournament Hours: 6:30 AM, June 14 to 4:30 PM, June 14(Lines in Water)

2. We will have staff available for early check in at 5:30 AM on day of tournament.

3. All boats must be at weigh in (at ramp) by 4:30 PM on Saturday, June 14

4. Fish must be caught using a handheld pole.

5. Fish must be caught on sporting tackle and be hooked and landed by the entrant only.

6. All tournament boats must maintain a distance of 50 yards between each other. 

7. If fishing out of the boat, you must be within 150 feet of the boat.

8. A maximum of 10 fish per boat will be weighed in. If multiple people are fishing from same boat, then only 10 fish may be weighed in. This includes Bank Anglers too.

9. Once a fish has been weighed and recorded, it is part of your catch. You cannot replace it with a larger fish.

10. All children 16 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult.

11. Individuals without a boat are allowed to fish from the banks of the Altamaha River only. (A maximum of 10 fish will only be weighed per individual)

12. Ties & disqualifications will be decided by the tournament committee.

13. Any protests must be made within 40 minutes of weigh in time.

14. All entry fees must be received by June14, 2014 at 6:30 AM or late fee of $15.00 will be applied to all entries thereafter.

15. Only Bluegill, Warmouth, Redbreast and Shell Cracker will be weighed in.

16. “All Tournament Anglers” must fish the Altamaha River and are allowed to fish Oxbow Lakes off the main run of the Altamaha River.

17. All pan fish must be caught from the Altamaha River, no pond pan fish allowed.

18. THE “IRON PIG MOTORCYCLE CLUB” WILL NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ANY PROPERTY DAMAGE OR PERSONAL INJURY INFLICTED DURING YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THIS FISHING TOURNAMENT! MY SIGNATURE BELOW INDICATES THAT ALL RULES WILL BE FOLLOWED AND THAT I UNDERSTAND THEM.

The Satilla Riverkeeper and sponsors will hold a Satilla River Fishing Tourney May 10, 2014.

 Cash prizes of more than $1,000 plus other prizes will be awarded.

Entry fee is $25 per fisher for anyone age 16 and over. Children under 16 can fish for free when accompanied by an adult.

Entry fee will include a year’s membership with Satilla Riverkeeper, a non-profit organization whose mission it is to protect, restore and educate about the Satilla River. Cash prizes will be awarded to team winners in each category, and fishing tackle and other prizes will be awarded to winners in the youth division.

Prizes:  Total Payout of $1,025 plus prizes

Cash prizes for adult teams and non-cash prizes for youth will be awarded in the following categories:

  • ‘Red Myers’ Largest Redbreast pays $125.
  • Largest native catfish pays $100. (Flathead catfish are not eligible.)
  • Largest panfish other than a Redbreast pays $100.
  • Largest Largemouth Bass pays $100.
  • Largest bowfin (mudfish) pays 100.

Largest fish is defined as the heaviest fish by weight.

Grand Slam Prize: will be awarded to the team with the largest fish in three of the five categories listed. Fish from all 5 categories will be considered but only the largest in any 3 can be entered in this category. Fishers present the 3 fish of their choice to be weighed. Pays $300.

Largest Redbreast Stringer Prize: Prize and bragging rights will be awarded to the team with the three largest redbreast total weight. Pays $300.

Catch and release is encouraged by the Satilla Riverkeeper.

Event schedule and timesTeams must consist of a minimum of two fishers per boat with a maximum of the team’s boat capacity. Kayakers must fish in pairs of a minimum of two kayaks. Canoes musts carry a minimum of two team members. Fishing from the bank is also allowed. Members of a team may weigh in any fish caught by any member of the team. Only one fish per team will be weighed for each category. There is no maximum number to a team–only that of the boat’s capacity. No one is to fish as an individual.

Fishing may begin at 6:30am (sunrise is about 6:30 that day) on May 10th anywhere on public waters of the Satilla River or its tributaries. The tournament will be held rain or shine. In the event of threatening weather, contestants are reminded to observe safety first and are responsible to determine the extent of their participation.

Registration forms are available on-line at satillariverkeeper.org or call 912-510-9500. Additional registration forms are available at fishing tackle shops and other sites throughout the Satilla River area.

Registration will end at 9 a.m. May 10th. Only cash entry payment will be accepted the day of the tournament and a late registration fee of $5 will be charged the day of the event. All other entry fees and registration forms must be received no later than 5 p.m. May 9th, 2014.

In order to be eligible for prizes an entrant must have weighed in by 4 p.m. May 10, 2014. If you have not weighed in or are not in the weigh-in line at 4 p.m., no catches will be eligible. Catch and release is encouraged by the Satilla Riverkeeper.

Registration the morning of the tournament and weigh-in at any time after noon will be held at 829 South West Central Ave. in Blackshear, GA 31516. Registration will be underneath the water tower.

Only one fish per team will be weighed for each category except the Grand Slam and Largest Readbreast Stringer in which three total fish will be weighed.

Any entry in the Youth division must be specified as such before the weigh-in. Youth must be with someone as a member of the team but they can then enter their catch in the youth category if they wish–and must state so at weight-in.

RULES:

All state and federal laws and regulations will be observed. Any infraction of these laws and regulations may result in disqualification. It is the responsibility of the entrant to be familiar with these laws and regulations.

Any fish weighed in for Youth categories must be designated as such prior to weigh-in.

Catch and release is encouraged by the Satilla Riverkeeper. A live fish tank will be provided at weigh-in for live catches to be returned to the river.

The tournament committee will determine disqualifications or disputes, and the decisions of the committee is final. Winners will be determined and payouts and prizes will be awarded at the end of the tournament. Any protest must be in writing and must be lodged with the tournament committee within 30 minutes of weigh-in.

This is a family event. Any contestant suspected of consuming alcohol during the fishing event and during weigh-in may be disqualified.

 

The Satilla Riverkeeper is a non-profit 501 C-3 organization. All contributions are tax deductible.
